Sizing Guide: Yuketen moccasin styles are true to US standard size. We recommend checking your shoe size in the New Balance Made in USA models (ex. 993, 996, 998) or on the Brannock Device.

The blucher moccasin was popularized in the 1950s and 60s as a formalized variation of the lace-up moccasin, more commonly experienced as a boat shoe. The blucher provided a more sophisticated, elongated silhouette, reminiscent of the style of dress shoe with which it shared its name.

This three-eyelet, unlined shoe is made from Horween Chromexcel leather. Chromexcel is a buttery, malleable 'pull-up' leather born of a unique double-tanning process of vegetable and chrome treatments, which imbues the leather with pleasantly aromatic liquor notes. Its suppleness, revealing of lighter tones in its oiled surface when stretched, makes it particularly suitable for moccasin construction. Important design details are the lace-in kiltie nestled under the blucher pieces, our signature baseball stitch overcast, and pinking decoration on the heel seam cover, all of which contribute a touch of elegance to this updated moccasin silhouette.

Each shoe is handstitched in our Maine, U.S.A. factory from Horween’s full grain Chromexcel leather. Chromexcel is a buttery, malleable 'pull-up' leather born of a unique double-tanning process of vegetable and chrome treatments, which imbues the leather with pleasantly aromatic liquor notes. Its suppleness, revealing lighter tones in its oiled surface when stretched, makes it particularly suitable for moccasin construction. The upper is hand-punched and handsewn with awl, needle, and thread on Yuketen's proprietary last from multiple pieces of leather in order to ensure reinforcement and is cinched at the base to create an integumentary fit.

A Vibram’s oil-resisting morflex sole complements the dense eight layers of rubber and leather underfoot. Full vegetable-tanned leather insoles and midsoles, and tucks with steel shank reinforcements increase fitting in the arch and heel as well as lessen foot fatigue by forming a stable bridge between the heel and ball of the owner's foot which causes weight to be distributed more evenly across the foot. This results in reduced foot fatigue and improved comfort. Yuketen’s signature tucks are made from 100% vegetable-tanned leather and will naturally accommodate the distinct shape of the wearer.
